Bards are the singers of the realm of Hibernia. They use instruments to perform most of their repertoire. Their songs provide nurture and protection during and after battle. In addition, Bards are capable of increasing run speeds for their groups, which proves useful when attempting to outrun the enemy on the battlefield, or for traveling from place to place.


In addition to songs, Bards can also heal and cast spells to enhance themselves and groupmates. They have the ability to stop people dead in their tracks with crowd control spells. Bards can specialize to gain additional healing abilities, area of effect crowd control abilities and offensive abilities (weapons and shout).

PVE[]

In PVE, a Bard's role is to provide regeneration and heal proc buffs to the group, with some healing, and crowd control in the case of overpulls.

RVR[]

In RVR, a Bard's role is to provide crowd control for the group - healing when the group is in a pinch. Keeping enemy players mezzed or rooted, and interrupting the casters and support throughout the fight. When running into an enemy group, if the Bard has the jump then insta amnesia as you cast AE mez is a great way to keep the enemy in range for the mez to land. Casted mez is always the priority, but an instant can still swing a lot of fights in your realm's favour. Identify the support and casters, and try to keep them from casting by using CC spells and using instant DDs and amensia for interrupts. Bards should also take the disease and dot spells from the Magician Champion Level line to help with interrupting.

Effect

Allows the Bard to create an illusion that makes him or her self look like a difference race and class for a 5 minute duration (effected by bonus to spell duration). The Bard's instrument also takes the illusion of another weapon and no spell effects are shown when the Bard casts a spell. This ability also adds a reactive proc (20%) which applies a 40% snare for 15 seconds on the attacker.

Additional Note: After using this ability and becoming a Blademaster in appearance, you can switch to your weapon and back to your instrument for an additional effect. You will appear to have two weapons on your back in the form of an X. This effect is aesthetic only.
